Dr Carlie Bauer, PhD, MClinExSci
Victoria University
Carlie's academic and professional work focuses on advancing equitable approaches to clinical exercise physiology, with a particular emphasis on trans health, inclusive practice, and the physiological factors that shape health outcomes for gender-diverse populations.
Carlie’s research examines the role of gender-affirming hormone therapy on physical fitness and explores how these treatments relate to circulating and skeletal muscle factors. She is committed to integrating these perspectives into clinical exercise physiology, and her work aims to improve the evidence base that supports affirming, effective, and accessible care.
