Dr. Cristina Priboi, PhD
Behavioural Sciences Unit, School of Clinical Medicine, UNSW Medicine & Health, Discipline of Paediatrics and Child Health
I am an early-career postdoctoral researcher specializing in psycho-oncology and cancer survivorship, with a particular focus on the sexual health and wellbeing of survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer. I am currently based at UNSW as a visiting postdoctoral researcher, supported by a Swiss National Science Foundation Postdoc Mobility fellowship.
My academic training is in psychology. I completed my doctoral studies in Switzerland, where my research examined long-term psychosocial and quality-of-life outcomes among childhood cancer survivors, with an emphasis on sexual health, intimacy, and developmental trajectories across survivorship. During my training, I also held international research appointments, including a mobility fellowship at the Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology in the Netherlands.
At UNSW, I am based in the Behavioural Science Unit, where I focus on research in cancer survivorship, particularly sexual health and quality of life among survivors of childhood and adolescent cancer. My broader research interests include survivorship trajectories, late effects of cancer and its treatment, and generating evidence to better inform survivorship care and support. I am also actively engaged in open science and research-quality initiatives alongside my survivorship work.
