Dr Leigh Walker, PhD, BBMSc

Dr Leigh Walker is Group Head of the Hormones and Behaviour Laboratory and Deputy lead of Mental Health Research at the Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, where their research investigates how biological sex, hormones and other factors shape vulnerability to mental illness, particularly stress and alcohol use disorders. Leigh is committed to improving equity in health and medical research through both their science and community engagement. As a non-binary neuroscientist and member of Queers in Science (QiS) Victoria, they advocate for greater diversity, inclusion and visibility in STEMM.
